Resumen: La Guerra del Paraguay fue la contienda bélica más importante de toda la historia de América Latina. Enfrentó a los tres países que acordaron el tratado de la Triple Alianza ?Argentina, Brasil y Uruguay- contra Paraguay entre 1864 y 1870. Se trató de un acontecimiento fundamental para la consolidación del estado nacional argentino. Sin embargo quienes estudiaron recientemente la construcción de la identidad nacional argentina no focalizaron en el período de la guerra. Nos proponemos analizar las representaciones de la nación durante la contienda, esta vez en los periódicos de las provincias de Entre Ríos y Corrientes. El litoral fue una región muy involucrada en la guerra debido a su ubicación geográfica entre otros factores. Abordaremos la disputa por la representación de la nación argentina entre los periódicos opositores y defensores de la alianza y tomaremos también en consideración las representaciones del Paraguay y del Imperio Brasileño. The ?triple alliance? of Argentina, Brasil and Uruguay fought against Paraguay between 1864 and 1870. It was a very significant event in the consolidation of Argentine national state.. However, recent studies approaching the construction of the Argentinian did not focus on the war period.. In this paper, I intend to analyze the representations about the nation during the conflict in the newspapers of Entre Rios and Corrientes provinces. The Litoral region was heavily involved in the war due to its geographic location, among other factors. I will discuss the confrontation about the representations of the Argentinian nation between newspapers that supported and newspapers that opposed the Alliance. In addition, I also deal with the representations of Paraguay and the Brazilian Empire in the same sources. Key Words: Paraguayan War-Nation-Litoral- Prensa
