In this paper we deal with the study of the processes that led to the morphological differentiation of the Southeastern Pampean Region populations, through the analysis of the variability at the craneofacial level. In order to do so, diachronic samples covering the lapse between ca.8000 to 400 radiocarbonic years BP. will be taken into account. The purpose of this analysis is to contrast some biological expectations drawn from an Holocenic peopling model previously stated for the area. This model sustains the existence of a variation in the demography and in the geographic dispersion rank of the Pampean populations through time. It particularly suggest the existence of a plausible local retraction/extinction process of this populations followed by a new colonization of the area during the Middle Holocene. The results obtained by multivariated analysis show that the populations of the Early to Middle Holocene transition (ca. 8000-6300 BP) present significant differences with those of the Early Late Holocene (ca. 3000-2000 BP), and that the latter have morphological similarities with the ones from Northern Patagonia.
