Resumen:
Adaptation to climate change involves a process of sustainable and permanent adaptation in response to new and changing environmental circumstances, modify behavior accordingly, livelihoods, infrastructure, laws, policies and institutions in response to weather events experienced or expected. Argentina has one of the largest marine and continental shelves. Its territory covers most of the area of the fourth largest global Basin (Cuenca del Plata) with a high diversity of aquatic species, some of which are commercially important 1.Changes in resources and time-space distribution: The decline in fish biomass by overexploitation; The lack of identification of transboundary fish stocks; The quality of fish products; The lack of updated technology in the mid-water coastal vessels and offshore; The use of poor selectivity nets; The inadequacy of regulations related to fishing areas; The expansion of closed seasons in the new environmental conditions. 2. Regulatory issues and logistics: Lack of inter-jurisdictional and international agreements; The need for modernization, protection and relocation of the landing port sector, and the freezing and packaging of products; The need for transportation of fresh and frozen; Food safety. 3. Social issues related to poor technical training of crews, ground operators and manufacturers, safety and working conditions This research mentions the problems that will face the fisheries sector in climate change scenarios proposed for the region and raises possible measures, activities and lines of work as adaptive responses to them.
