Resumen:
We studiedthe realized niche of two distant allopatric wool-carder bee populations(bee-plant interaction and reproductive biology in weather variability). In onepopulation, we analyzed the direct and indirect effects of weather onbee-resource interactions. The two populations shared several nichecharacteristics but showed some differences. Anthidium vigintipunctatum is aspecialist species, with plasticity to extend the individual niche pushed byresources availability and weather variability. In both regions, the bee?sresponse toweather condition was similar (nesting rates and the reproductivesuccess). Causal analysis indicated climate directly determines bee?s reproductivesuccess, and indirect resource availability effects are subtle. The immediateresponse to environmental conditions warms about A. vigintipunctatumsensitivity to expected changes in the regional climate which could be a negativepressure on bees? survival.
