Resumen:
At the end of the autumnand during the spring, important biomass burning of anthropogenic origin areproduced in South America as a consequence of the agricultural activity. Theseburning generates dense smoke plumes that are transported by winds severalkilometers away from their origin. This paper present an event detected inSeptember 2017 at two monitoring stations, one station located in Pilar, province of Córdoba (31.7º S, 63.8º W) and the Villa Martelli Station(CITEDEF), located in the province of Buenos Aires (34.5º S, 58.5º W). Bothstations have a CIMEL solar photometer that is integrated into the AERONET /NASA Network and a tropospheric multi-wavelength lidar system with dual depolarizationchannels. The data of each station is analyzed to determine the properties ofthe aerosols suspended above them. The study is complemented with MODISsatellite data and HYSPLIT / NOAA back-trajectories.
