Resumen:
In this work we report extreme events ,(EE) observed in an all-solid state laser, active medium ,Nd: Vanadate with saturable absorber ,Cr:YAG, and study its features. These kind of lasers, which are compact, robust and cheap, are used in a wide variety of applications, from distance measurement to target illumination. Understanding how these events are formed could presumably lead to its control and improvements in its applications. Here we show that in this system EE appear in low-dimensional chaotic regimes of operation as well as several experimental observations that point towards the interactions of many transverse modes as the origin of these events. Following these indications, we present preliminar observations of the pulse to pulse trasnverse pattern of the spot performed by means of an ultra-fast camera in a periodic regime of operations.
