Resumen:
The generation of photoelectrical effects through the spectral sensitization of wide band gap semiconductor electrodes by the excitation of a series of novel synthetic organic molecules is reported. Natural photosynthetic-related supramolecular systems where designed and constructed in order to btain “antenna” and photoinduced intramolecular charge transfer process, as previous steps to the heterogeneous electron injection. The dyes were absorbed to saturation on nanocrystalline SnO2 thin films, employed as working electrodes in photoelectrochemical cells. The chosen molecules are porphyrin-porphyrin and porphyrin-C60 fullerene molecualr dyads.
