How does the geopolitics of Antarctic knowledge works?

The geopolitics of knowledge refers to power relations into the world science. We analyzed the production and circulation of knowledge in Social Sciences and Humanities Antarctic research published in three well-recognized journals: Antarctic Sciences, the Polar Record and the Polar Journal. In doing so, we collected papers published since their first issues, and examined, which institutions published the most, the trends of scientific collaborations, and the funding origins. Moreover, we payed special attention to how papers on climate change and COVID-19 perceive the future of the Antarctic governance. The findings let us know that the Antarctic research is not an exception to the geopolitics of knowledge, tracking the circulation of Antarctic knowledge in such journals. The purpose is to provoke discussions on the geopolitics of knowledge.
