Resumen:
The purpose of this work is to offer a synthesis of the conditions that made possible the emergence of Cristianismo y Revolución, a militant media published in Argentina between 1966 and 1971, which opposed the military dictatorship of Juan Carlos Onganía from the most radicalized sectors of post-conciliar Catholicism. The text analyzes national and transnational processes that converged in the magazine, such as the Second Vatican Council, the Catholic radicalization in Latin America, the emergence of the Third World as a political identity and the formation of a revolutionary tendency within the Peronist movement, that worked as a pole of attraction for Catholics, leftists and nationalists. At the same time, it describes the functioning of the publication, its conflicts, the changes in the editorial line, the sections, the editorial team and the addressees. The conclusions test hypotheses about the Argentine situation between 1943 and 1976, and the nature of the new left in Argentine. The paper examines primary and secondary sources such as books and articles on Cristianismo y Revolución, research on political and cultural history of Argentina, and thirty issues of the magazine.
