Resumen:
In a biotechnological process, Downstream Processing (DSP) has the largest impact on its development and costs. Efficient DSPs let overcome these high operating inconvenients. The use of nanoparticles as adsorbing protein materials is an increasingly developing area. The potential of these nanomaterials are based of their high surface/volume ratio. Fumed silica (FSi) is one of the few nanomaterials used in large scale in the production of several industrial products. In addition, the low toxicity of this nanosize particles became in an excellent raw material for develop novel applications in the field of DSP. The goal of this work was to obtain and characterize functional polymeric nanoparticles (PNPs) based on FSi radiation-induced co-grafted with methacrylates, for its application in specific and reversible protein adsorption.
