We cultured cells that are proxy for the cells encountered in a regular positive biopsy. They formed a monolayer of our insulating Petri dish. We had two electrodes deposited on this polycarbonate surface. The cells covered the electrodes changing the electrical characteristics of the system. We measured the electrical impedance using a novel technique. It is based on the use of two Lockin amplifiers. A digital function generator is used to produce a f1 = 1 kHz sine wave with a I = 1ųA current modulated by another f2 = 21.234 Hz. Two Lockins are used to make the measurement obtaining noise rejection of 60 dB. This is a considerable improvement compared the previous techniques.
