Resumen:
The main goal of the chapter is to introduce to researchers and people in the field of photosynthesis one of the key enzymes of the photosynthetic process, the ferredoxin NADP+ reductase (FNR). The chapter will be formulated as a review. It will be written taking into account the research data that have been produced on this enzyme. In addition, some new data will be included. The chapter will focus on structural and functional aspects of the enzyme in association with the metabolic process of photosynthesis. We intend to provide useful knowledge for those that are entering in the subject and those that are working on photosynthesis but are not expert in field of FNR. The chapter will be also useful for university teaching or postgraduate courses on photosynthesis. Special attention will be pay to techniques and approaches that could help to appreciate the importance of the enzyme and to understand, conceive and/or execute research on FNR. We are including in the next paragraph a description of the different sections of the proposed chapter.
