The polymeric materials of both natural and synthetic origin have been used effectively in the development of biomaterials. Thus, interpenetrating polymernetworks (IPN) arise as a combination of two or more polymeric networks synthesized in juxtaposition, forming a three-dimensional structure among thepolymers that compose it.This work presents the synthesis, physicochemical and biological characterization of alginate semi-IPN for its application in bone tissue engineering
