Resumen:
The photocatalytic degradation of 17-α-ethinylestradiol(EE2) and phenol in aqueous solution was studied using a continuous flow,planar microreactor under simulated sunlight. A thin film of palladium-modifiedTiO2 was employed as photocatalyst. Degradation rates of the single compoundsfollow pseudo-first order kinetics but, in binary mixtures, the reaction ratesof the pollutants can be well described by a simplified Langmuir-Hinshelwoodequation. Using the kinetic parameters obtained in the single componentexperiments, and including a competitive term, the model was able to predictwith good accuracy the degradation of the pollutants in the mixture.
