I have researched on South-American right-wing andextreme right-wing groups and parties in the thirties and in the sixties. Theformer were convincingly accused of being Fascists and the latter of being NewFascists. I´d like to talk about the differences between them, which is to saywhat has changed in the fascist condition after 1945. My comparison will bebased in three main variables: i) ideology and values; ii) organizationpatterns; iii) individuals and social sectors involved. In my opinion, studying peripheral fascisms cancontribute to better shape our understanding of the nature of Fascism and therisks and possibilities of its return to world politics.
