Resumen:
Braces were introduced by Rump to study non-degenerate involutiveset-theoretic solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation. To studynon-involutive solutions one needs skew braces, a non-commutativeanalog of braces. In this talk we discuss basic properties of skewbraces and how these structures are related to the Yang-Baxterequation. We also discuss interesting connections between skew bracesand several structures appearing in non-commutative ring theory.
