The class of p -compact mappings in the operator space setting

The class ofp-compact mappings has lately been studied as a natural generalization of theideal of compact operators in the Banach space framework. In this talk we will review severalstructural properties of this class from the perspective of the theories of tensor norms andoperator ideals. We will explain how this notion can be translated to the category of operatorspaces and, if time allows, what are the obstacles that we deal with.Joint work with Alejandro Chávez-Domínguez (University of Oklahoma, U.S.A.) and VerónicaDimant (Universidad de San Andrés, Argentina).
