Resumen:
Focused on the biomedical applications of thermo-responsive polymers, low-doses of gamma radiation from a 60Co source were applied in a simple one-pot method to synthesize alginate-g-PNIPAAm copolymers with different percentage of grafting. Copolymers compositions were determined by TGA and their structure-property relationship were studied in terms of thermo-associative and rheological behavior in aqueous solutions. They would be attractive as specific injectable gel-forming biomaterials, acting as a temporary matrix or scaffold.
