Resumen:
This investigation combines microstructural characterization analyses and atomistic modeling to better elucidate the mechanism of stress corrosion cracking of iron-nickel-chromium alloys exposed to high temperature. The structure of HK-40 alloy under 800-1150 ºC after 30,000 h service is studied by optical and electron microscopy techniques. A complementary theoretical study on the chemical bonding and electronic structure of the C alloy interaction is also performed using the Atom Superposition and Electron Delocalization method.
