Resumen:
Here is described a second upper incisive, assigned to Pararctotherium sp., found in a Late Pleistocene outcrop (» 11,210 ± 50 14C years BP; San Roman et al., 2000) of southern Patagonia (Cueva de los Chingues, Magallanes, Chile; Fig. 1). This is the southernmost record of an Ursidae in the world, and one of the most recent record of Pararctotherium. The paleoenvironment, in which this genus habit in southern Patagonia (around 11,000 years BP), was a cold grassland.
