Resumen:
Pt catalysts were prepared byencapsulating the active metal in the NaA zeolite structure. The catalysts wereprepared by hydrothermal synthesis usingtwo heating sources, conventional heating through a thermal bath andmicrowave radiation. The synthesis timewas significantly reduced using microwave radiationwithout affectingthe crystallinity or metallic content ofthe solids obtained. By X-ray diffraction thepresence of the pure NaAzeolite phase was confirmed in all the samples. XRD, XPS andTEM results suggested the presence of Pt particlespreferentially located inside thecrystalline structure.Pt_NaA catalysts were active andselective for the water gas shift reaction at 673 K. No methane formation wasdetected in any of the samples under thereaction conditions studied. The Pt_NaA catalyst with low Pt content(0.6% wt.) achieveda high conversion of CO (ca. 70%).
