Resumen:
The present article recovers the contribution made by the Argentinian researcher Heriberto Muraro, who in the eighties outlined, starting from the critical analysis of the contributions of the political economy of communication and the development of the culture industries as object of analysis, a proposal of memorandum or agenda of priorities for the field of studies in Latin America. From the convergence processes, globalisation and spreading of information and communication technologies recorded in the last two and a half decades, with the subsequent mutation of the productive processes of the sector, the research carried out in Iberoamerica is contrasted with the agenda proposed by Muraro, reformulating it and discussing some of its suppositions. Likewise, there is a proposal for a classification of the main contributions within the framework of the political economy studies of the communication and culture in the region.
