Resumen:
In the present work, we demonstrate that the movement protein TGBp1 of PVX is phosphorylated in vitro by human recombinant CK2 and a partially-purified tobacco CK2. We show that TGBp1 is phosphorylated by a host kinase with CK2 characteristics when virus-infected leaf extracts are incubated with radiolabelled ATP. To our knowledge, these results show for the first time that a potexvirus MP is phosphorylated, and will be useful in determining the potential role of TGBp1 phosphorylation in the mobilisation and  replication of PVX.
