Learning from borders and building a competitive advantage with border proximity: that is the scope of our paper. Border effects are mostly seen as negative, although that we want  to examine how to use borders are an opportunity to improve industrialisation. Can one see the borders like opportunities likely to support the industrial development? To treat this question, we will describe the surprising success of a zone of production of citrus fruits at the uruguayoargentina border. Then we will try to release some from the explanatory elements likely to characterize a positive border effect.
