Resumen:
Pediculus humanus is of great concern to public health and includes two ecotypes Pediculus humanus capitis (head louse) which lives on the human scalp and Pediculus humanus humanus (body louse) which lives in clothing in poor and unhygienic conditions such as refugee camps and shelters for the homeless. Body lice can cause itching and can spread certain types of diseases (Trench fever, Typhus and Relapsing Fever). Homelessness, defined as the absence of a conventional dwelling or residence, is a growing social and public health problem and are particularly exposed to ectoparasites.
