Resumen:
The mutant mice cri/cri, segregated in an autosomic recessive pattern from the DBA/2J-cri inbred strain, have a cribriform degeneration of the central nervous system (cri) as a typical anatomopathological finding. The distribution of Na+, K+ and Cl- is abnormal in cri/cri mice and the electrolyte balance has some similarity to cystic fibrosis, a syndrome causing obstructive pulmonary disease, high electrolyte levels in sweat and pancreatic insufficiency. Hence, this mutant was proposed as a possible animal model.
