This work presents the photoacoustic determination of the of heat generation for 1.064 mm and 1.34 mm laser emission in proton implanted Nd:YAG planar waveguide. For laser operation at 1.064 mm and 1.34 mm the experimental ratio of the heat generated for both luminescence regimes are 0.63 ± 0.03 and 1.00 ± 0.05, respectively. These values show good agreement with theoretical estimation also included in this work. The integrated device operating at 1.34 mm presents a lower laser performance due to the weak heat evacuation observed under stimulated regime that would produce important changes in the refractive index. In contrast laser operation at 1.064 mm could support high pump sources due to the strong heat reduction from spontaneous to stimulated luminescence regime.
