Resumen:
After more than 20 years of working alongside the Argentinian National Space Activities Commission (CONAE) as a space quality hardware key supplier for their missions, the Research and Non-Nuclear Applications Senior Managment (GAIyANN) at CNEA has consolidated design, manufacturing and testing facilities in this field through two specific departments: Solar Energy Department (DES) and Composite Materials Technology Departament (DTMC).On one hand, The Solar Energy Department performs R&D activities related with photovoltaic solar energy conversion for space and terrestrial applications. Coarse Sun Sensors (CSS) and solar cells have been integrated into several Argentinian Satellite Missions, e.g. SAC-A, SAC-D (qualified in space) and, at the moment, SAOCOM 1A (CSS and solar array tested and ready to flight in September 2018) and SAOCOM 1B missions (ready for test). The solar arrays of CubBug 1, CubeBug 2, BugSat, ÑuSat 1 and ÑuSat 2, small satellites in orbit developed by the private company Satellogic, were integrated with commercial ATJ solar cells at CNEA labs.
