Resumen:
Resumen Based on a theoretical model Developer by Fishbein, it was predicted that the individual’s intentions towards the behaviour of confining an old person in a geriatric institution is a function of two components: attitudinal and normative. Attitudes, subjective norms and behavioural intentions were measured by means of a questionnaire administered to 170 subjects residing in Buenos AiresCity (Argentina). Results revealed that subjects probably avoid geriatric confinement. Their attitudes to behaviour turned out to be unfavourable and their subjective norms showed a perception of social disapprovement toward the performance of this behavior.
