Fenoprofen (FPF) is a commercially available asymmetric NSAID of the profen class, marketed as racemate. Chiral inversion (CI) is a particular metabolic process of some of these drugs, which allows the stereoselective and unidirectional inversion of inactive (R)-enantiomer to their active (S)-antipode. The objective of this work was to study the stereoconversion of FPF in guinea pigs.
