Resumen:
PósterThe Auger Muons and Infill for the Ground Array (AMIGA) aims to extend the detection range of the Pierre Auger Observatory to observe cosmic rays of lower energies (greater than 1016.6 eV) and to directly measure the muon content of extensive air showers. AMIGA consists of an infill of water Cherenkov detectors and underground muon detectors. Each muon detector hasthree 10 m2 modules with 64 plastic-scintillator bars and optical fiber. The optoelectronics system consists of an array of silicon photomultipliers. In this work, we describe the main characteristics of the muon detector and its implementation in mass composition studies of ultra high energy cosmic rays at AugerPrime, the upgrade of the Pierre Auger Observatory.
