Search for patterns by combining cosmic ray energies and arrival directions at the Pierre Auger Observatory.

Energy-dependent patterns in the arrival directionsof cosmic rays are searched for using data of the PierreAuger Observatory. We investigate local regions around thehighest-energy cosmic rays with E ≥ 6×1019 eV by analyzingcosmic rays with energies above E ≥ 5×1018 eVarrivingwithin an angular separation of approximately 15◦.We characterizethe energy distributions inside these regions by twoindependent methods, one searching for angular dependenceof energy-energy correlations and one searching for collimationof energy along the local system of principal axesof the energy distribution. No significant patterns are foundwith this analysis. The comparison of these measurementswith astrophysical scenarios can therefore be used to obtainconstraints on related model parameters such as strength ofcosmic-ray deflection and density of point sources.
