Insulin resistance and chronic inflammation are frequently associatedwith the development of cognitive disorders and neurodegenerativediseases such as Alzheimer’s disease (AD). However, it isnot yet clear whether there is a causal link between these two factors,and which one appears earlier in the pathology. Our objectivewas to study metabolic parameters and inflammation in a possiblebrain insulin resistance context in a transgenic model of AD, thePDAPP-J20 mouse at the age of 8 months. We hypothesized thatan inflammatory environment could trigger insulin resistance in thebrain, neurodegeneration and cognitive impairment.
