Resumen:
Abstract Abstract Complete oxidation of ethanol, as model volatile organic compounds (VOCs), on manganese oxides catalysts was investigated. The catalysts have been prepared by different methods and characterized by diffuse reflectance IR spectroscopy (DRIFTS), DRS-UV-VIS and thermogravimetrics analyses (TGA). The maximum activity of the catalyst was related to the structure of the catalysts (presence of Mn+3 ions and OH groups). A possible reaction mechanism of ethanol oxidation was postulated taking into account the experimental results and a theoretical study of the solid. +3 ions and OH groups). A possible reaction mechanism of ethanol oxidation was postulated taking into account the experimental results and a theoretical study of the solid.
