Resumen:
Background:ParatuberculosisisanentericdiseasecausedbyMycobacteriumaviumsp.paratuberculosis(MAP)thataffectsmainlyruminantproducinglossestothelivestockindustry.ManymolecularepidemiologicalmethodshavebeenusedtodiscriminateMAPisolates.Method:TheaimofthisstudywastodescribethegeneticdiversityoftheArgentineanMAPisolatesusingacombinationoftwomolecularsystems,themycobacterialinterspersedrepetitiveunit?variablenumbertandemrepeat(MIRU‑VNTR)(?automatedand?non‑automated?)andthemulti‑locusshort‑sequencerepeat(MLSSR)system.Results:Thirty‑twoisolateswereidentifiedasMAPofCtypebyIS900polymerasechainreaction(PCA)andIS1311PCA‑restrictionenzymeanalysis.ThemainpatternsfoundbybothMIRU‑VNTRsystemswereINMV1(54.5%),INMV2(24.2%)andINMV11(9.1%).TheINMV5,INMV8andINMV16wererepresentedwithoneisolateeach(3.0%).Only4MIRU‑VNTRlociwerepolymorphic.Conclusion:ThoseisolatessharingthesameINMVpatternswereanalyzedbyMLSSR,beinglocus2themostpolymorphiconeshowingisolateswith9,10,11,andmorethan11?G?repeats.Besides,theglobaldiscriminatorypoweramongisolatescouldbeincreasedusingbothtechniques.Basedontheseresults,ashortversionofthe?automated?MIRU‑VNTRcouldbeusedasascreeningtooltogroupisolatesgeneticallyrelatedandsubsequentlyperformtheSSRusinglocus2onthoseisolatessharingthesameINMVpattern.
