Resumen:
Summer precipitation sensitive Pilgerodendron uviferum chronologies from insular and continental areas around the Island of Chiloé (Chile), were used to reconstruct summer (December to March) regional precipitation of Chiloé Island back to A.D. 1557. Two Pilgerodendron chronologies and their lagged versions back to 3 years were used as predictors while the regional average of three meteorological stations from Chiloé Island as predictand. The reconstructed summer precipitation pointed out the existence of severity drought summer periods as 1815-1829.
