Dendrocronología y dendroclimatología del bosque de Pilgerodendron uviferum en su área norte de dispersión

Dendrochronological and dendroclimatological characteristics of four ring-width chronologies derived from Pilgerodendron uviferum (D.Don) Florin trees located in both chilean and argentine territory between c. 40-43 south latitude, are presently analyzed. The relation with climate reveals that those chronologies located in the Chilean side are more related to summer rainfall than with temperature and the behaviour of the chronologie located in the Argentine side is inverse. Statistical analysis show that P. uviferum reaches similar values of mean sensitivity and first order autocorrelation than their Fitzroya cupressoides (Molina) Johnson and Austrocedrus chilensis (D.Don) Florin & Boutledge relatives. The power spectrum analysis reveal that all chronologies have significative peaks in the high-frequency variance, indicating possible relations with short-term variations in climate.
