Attachment assessment through questionnaires in children from 9 to 12 years old

Two questionnaires of attachment were studied in Argentine children: categorial and dimensional, finding good psychometric properties. In addition, the complementarity between both of them was analyzed, finding that secure attachment corresponds to high confidence and availability, anxious to medium confidence and availability, and avoidant to low confidence and availability.When children grow up, attachment assessment based on the observation of behaviors, is replaced by methodologies centered on the representational perspective. Between 6 and 12 years it is convenient to use questionnaires, which can respond to a categorical or dimensional model. Objective: to present the Argentine adaptation of a categorical and a dimensional attachment questionnaire, and to analyze the correspondences between both of them.
