Resumen:
The differentiation process through which fetal gonads and genitalia acquire a male or a female phenotype involves a chain of molecular, hormone-dependent and hormone-independent events. Two steps of fetal sexual differentiation are classically described: 1) sex determination, i.e. the mechanisms ruling gonad differentiation into a testis or an ovary, and 2) sex differentiation, i.e. the dimorphic differentiation of internal and external genitalia, essentially hormonedependent.
