Resumen:
Anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility (AMS) can be used to obtain information about magnetic fabric of sediments, whether this is basically of sedimentary origin or it has been affected by tectonic strain. A study on teh AMS of unconsolidated sediments associated to tectonic features like faults of folds in the Andean Precordillera of Argentina is reported. A broad range of AMS patterns has been found, from sedimentary to clear tectonic fabric.
