Resumen:
Mixed conductors exhibiting both oxide-ion and electronic conductivities find important applications as electrodes in solid oxide fuel cells and oxygen separation membranes. The success of these materials relies heavily on their structural and chemical stabilities at high temperatures and reducing environments. This review focuses on the crystal chemistry, structural and chemical stabilities, electrical conductivity, and oxygen permeation properties of ABO3- perovskite oxides and perovskite-related intergrowth oxides such as Sr4Fe6-yCoyO13+, (La,Sr)2BO4 (B = Fe, Co, and Ni), (Sr,La)3Fe2-yCoyO7-d, and Sr3La(Fe,Ga,Co)3O10-d. The intergrowth oxides offer better structural stability, but generally with a lower oxygen permeation flux, than the widely investigated perovskite oxides
