Resumen:
Argentine Patagonian forest have been negatively impacted in many different ways by wood harvesting, agriculture and the mismanagement of grazing practices such that sustainability of the land base is at risk. Forest characteristics must be considered when trials are planned and emphasize the need for a regional network of silvopastoral trials. The big forestry potential for introduced fast growing species in this area and the actual policies that encourage this activity open the possibility for silvopatoral use of many types of planted forests.
