Resumen:
In this paper we want to call the attention of sexual selection researchers who have somehow overlooked the role and potential of fine-scaled observations which may affect interpretations of sexual phenomena. Sexual coercion in the form of forced copulation has been used as a typical example to illustrate the conflict of interests between females and males. We claim here that fine-scaled analyses of behavior may be a good tool to determine how whether the SAC or the FC hypothesis have shaped the behavioral interaction of the sexes. This behavioral analysis should be included in these studies. In this paper we discuss some advantages of using this approach with examples from arachnids and insects.
