A phytosociological analysis of the vegetation of the Parque Provincial Aconcagua (High central Andes of Mendoza, Argentina) is presented. Information concerning the geology, geomorphology, climate and soils of this area is provided. From the phytogeographical viewpoint the vegetation under study lies within the Andean-Patagonic Domain, namely in the Altoandean Province where three floristic districts corresponding to three altitudinal vegetation belts were recognized: Low Altoandean belt, Medium Altoandean belt with the occurrence of snow and High Altoandean or glacial belt. In this work add it belt ultimate. A total of 39 plant communities were determined. Vegetation belts are represented at a scale of 1:250,000. Se efectúa el estudio fitosociológico de la vegetación del Parque Provincial Aconcagua, Argentina. Se da una visión general sobre la geología,geomorfología, clima y suelos del área. Desde un punto de vista fitogeográfico se localiza a la vegetación dentro del Dominio Andinopatagónico, Provincia Alto Andina donde se reconocen tres distritos que se suceden altitudinalmente: Piso Altoandino Inferior, Altoandino Medio o Nival y Altoandino Superior o Glacial. En este trabajo se agrega éste último piso. Se determinan 39 comunidades vegetales. Los pisos de vegetación se representan a escala 1:250.000.
