Resumen:
In this work, membranes synthesized in our laboratory are analyzed regarding their hydrophobic properties and permeability to different organic solvents by measuring contact angles and  permeate flux. A good agreement with Darcy s law is observed with ethanol and isopropanol for all the membranes. When hexane is used as solvent, membrane M3 does not follow this behaviour exactly since it does not yield a line going through the coordinate origin. In this case, it is suggested that other mechanism beyond pore flow is affecting the permeate flux. For the same solvent, the PVDF uncoated membrane exhibits the lowest resistance; the coating layer applied on the membranes introduces an added resistance increasing the Rm value. For the same membrane, the resistance increases as more hydrophobic is the solvent (hexane gives the greatest Rm value).
