Garnet-orthopyroxene granulites areimportant component of granulite terranes which are exhumed mid- to lowercrustal sections. Grt-Opx granulites are usually thought to be residues aftermetgreywackes melting. This idea should be considere by an awareness that someGrt-Opx granulites may result from intercation between mafic magmas andmetamorphic rocks.
