Resumen:
In Book l of the Treatise, Hume begins by differentiating memory from imagination using the criterion of force and vivacity of the ideas. This distinction arises serious epistemological consequences as regards the conditions of possibility of the historical knowledge. Hume shows himself unsatisfied about it. This paper aims to show that the belief in historical discourse and the lack of it in the fictional one is due, at last, to epistemical conventions. And as a consequence of this, l try to show, in the second part of the paper, that Humess theory refers to a regular colaboration between memory and imagination
