Resumen:
Poly(butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) (PBAT) is a flexible copolyester obtained petrochemical sources which can be completely degraded in a few weeks using naturally occurring enzymes. In order to reduce costs and improve the biodegradability of PBAT, in recent years it has worked on the development of mixtures with starch [1, 2]. Studies have shown that the starch nanocrystals or nanoparticles could be used as fillers to improve mechanical and barrier properties of biocomposites [3, 4]. The aim of this work was investigate the effect of adding 2% starch nanoparticles in a mixture of PBAT:thermoplastic starch (70:30).
