Resumen:
We investigate the validity of a recently developed modification to the two-mode model for Bose-Einstein condensates for several geometries and number of particles. For large number of particles, it has been demonstrated that a reduced interaction energy parameter has to be taken into account to accurately reproduce the dynamics of Bose-Einstein condensates in a double-well system within a two-mode model. Here, by means of 3D full Gross-Pitaevskii simulations we show that this factor leads to very accurate predictions for the dynamics in Josephson and self trapping regimes. Furthermore we explore systems with experimental parameters which involve a lower number of particles (~1000) and a different confining potential. We find that the effective interaction can also be defined in terms of ground-state densities.
