The paper discusses the notion of protected spaces in order to tease out the particular relationships that compose the nexus between state agents and members of civil society in conflict with the legal order. We will describe, in a few examples, how this actually takes place in Argentina and at a more conceptual level the social conditions that facilitate this type of bonds and the effects that these may have in society
